WIND AND SEA 24SS COLLECTION
WIND AND SEA2024SPRING&SUMMER is a collection inspired by the Provence region of southern France. The rich nature and beautiful scenery are expressed in the color palette, and the rich mood faded by the bright sunlight is projected onto relaxed items. Key items in the collection include mesh knits reminiscent of fishing nets seen at fishing ports, vintage-style work jackets that blend in with the white sand, and surf shorts that are dyed to create a unique look. The original linen material is inspired by French antiques and focuses on the quality of Made in Japan.
The main graphics were commissioned to Studio Tyrsa, based in Paris, France. Designs that mix calligraphy and graffiti are incorporated into all kinds of clothing. Street elements are sprinkled into classic clothing, such as soft construction jackets with pins drawn by Tyrsa.
Alexis Taieb, the founder of Studio Tyrsa, discovered graffiti in 1999, and before his first wall painting had even dried, he found his way into life. Today, we continue to provide products from huge manufacturers such as NIKE, MONCLER, and Timberland to basketball leagues such as Drew League. His clients are diverse because he is one of the few artists who inherently understands that letters are transformative.
There's nothing ordinary about Tyrsa's work, it's always artisanal and full of originality. “My work is based on an analog process: painted brushstrokes, lettering, fonts, logos. Whatever expression I create is done by hand,” Alexis explained to It’s nice that, the world’s leading platform for creative communities. Studio Tyrsa's sophisticated work emphasizes modern, precise visuals and brings out the refined aesthetics of type, all based on the belief that "reinventing type without losing its meaning or beauty".
The WIND AND SEA 2024 SPRING & SUMMER Collection is inspired by Provence, in the South of France. The Collection was designed as if its items had been faded after hours of basking in bright sun and a color pallet inspired by the region’s natural beauty. Knit sweaters inspired by fishing nets, a vintage-style worker jacket that might blend into a white sand beach, dyed surf shorts that evoke unexpected emotions are some of the highlights of this collection. The original linen materials used in this Made-in-Japan collection are reminiscent of French antiques.
The main graphic for this collection was made by Studio Tyrsa from Paris, France, a design studio lead by Graphic Designer, Tyrsa. Each item incorporates a mashup of graffiti and Japanese calligraphy. The collection also weaves together elements of classic formal wear and streetwear, with items such as a soft construction linen jacket pinned with pins designed by Tyrsa.
Studio Tyrsa founder, Tyrsa a.k.a. Alexis Taieb, first discovered graffiti in 1999. Before the paint had dried on the wall of his first piece, he knew he had found his calling. Tyrsa has worked with several major brands including Nike, MONCLER and Timberland as well as basketball leagues such as the Drew League. Tyrsa’s chameleon-like ability to adapt lettering to context is what allows them to span such a wide array of clients.
Tyrsa is a craftsman and his work is filled with originality. In an article on creative media platform, “It’s nice that,” Tyrsa explains, “My work is based on an analogue process, it’s always handcrafted. Whether it’s a painted brush stroke, a lettering piece, a typeface and even a logo.” Incorporating modern visual elements with refined but artful typography, Studio Tyrsa beautiful creates, high quality work in which they “reinvent the letter, but never lose its meaning, or its beauty.”
